Day 1
Arrival in Arusha
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha, you will be met by the Tanzania Adventures Group team and transferred to your hotel for rest and safari briefing. This is your preparation day, giving you time to settle in comfortably and review the safari program before the wildlife journey begins.
Depending on your arrival time, you may relax at the lodge, enjoy dinner, and receive a short planning session about your route, migration expectations, and recommended wildlife focus for the coming days.
Suggested overnight: Arusha Planet Lodge / Forest Hill Hotel / Mount Meru Hotel
Day 2
Arusha to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, depart with picnic lunch and drive through the Ngorongoro highlands toward Serengeti National Park. The journey itself is scenic and forms an exciting transition from town life into Tanzania’s famous safari wilderness.
Once you enter Serengeti, begin your first game drive while heading toward camp. Depending on the season, this first wildlife session may include wildebeest herds, zebras, giraffes, elephants, lions, hyenas, and beautiful open plains scenery.
Suggested overnight: Serengeti Heritage Camp / Thorn Tree Camp / Kati Kati Tented Camp
Day 3
Full Day Serengeti Great Migration Safari
Spend a full day exploring Serengeti with a strong focus on the Great Migration and general game viewing. Your guide will follow the best wildlife concentration based on current herd movement, season, and road conditions. This creates a much better safari experience than following a fixed route without adapting to current wildlife activity.
With picnic lunch in the bush, you will have time to enjoy broad landscape viewing, search for predators, and appreciate the dramatic scale of the Serengeti ecosystem. This is often one of the most memorable days of the safari.
Suggested overnight: Serengeti Heritage Camp / Thorn Tree Camp / Kati Kati Tented Camp
Day 4
Second Serengeti Game Drive in the Best Migration Area
Continue with another full or extended game-drive day in Serengeti. A second major wildlife day adds excellent value because migration activity and predator sightings can change from one day to the next. This gives you a stronger chance of enjoying herds, dramatic scenery, and key wildlife moments.
For travellers focused on river crossings, northern movement, or calving season, this day is especially important because it gives your guide room to adjust and maximize the safari experience according to the actual movement of the animals.
Suggested overnight: Well-positioned Serengeti camp or seasonal migration camp
Day 5
Morning Serengeti Safari and Transfer to Ngorongoro / Karatu
After breakfast, enjoy a final Serengeti wildlife session before driving out of the park toward the Ngorongoro highlands or Karatu area. This overnight arrangement keeps the safari comfortable and positions you well for an early crater descent the next morning.
The route out of Serengeti still offers excellent game-viewing potential, so this transfer day remains an active part of the safari rather than just a travel segment.
Suggested overnight: Marera Valley Lodge / Ngorongoro Farm House / Eileen’s Trees Inn
Day 6
Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive and Return to Arusha
After an early breakfast, descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day or extended game drive in one of Africa’s most famous wildlife areas. The crater offers a very different safari experience from Serengeti, with concentrated wildlife, beautiful crater walls, open grassland, soda lake scenery, and an excellent chance to see a wide variety of animals within a relatively compact area.
After the crater safari and picnic lunch, drive back to Arusha for airport transfer or hotel drop-off depending on your onward plans. This marks the end of your safari services.
