6 Days Detailed Itinerary
This sample itinerary is designed to balance driving distances, safari quality, and accommodation comfort while keeping the balloon experience in the most rewarding part of the program.
Day 1
Arrival in Arusha
On arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport or Arusha, you will be welcomed by the Tanzania Adventures Group team and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. This first day is kept easy so you can rest after travel and prepare for the safari ahead.
Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy a short briefing about the route, accommodation plan, and wildlife highlights expected during your Tarangire and Serengeti journey.

Day 2
Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park for a full day game drive. Tarangire is one of northern Tanzania’s most rewarding parks, known for its classic baobab scenery, large elephant herds, and excellent sightings of giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, antelope, lions, and many bird species.
The park is especially attractive for travellers who want a quieter safari atmosphere with beautiful landscapes and authentic wildlife encounters. After the game drive, continue to Karatu or the nearby highlands for overnight.

Day 3
Karatu to Serengeti National Park
Today the journey continues toward Serengeti through the scenic conservation area and highland landscapes. This is a rewarding transfer day because wildlife viewing begins even before you fully enter the Serengeti plains.
After entering the park, enjoy your first Serengeti game drive while heading to camp. The shift from the wooded and river-fed feel of Tarangire to the vast open plains of Serengeti creates a dramatic contrast and gives this itinerary a strong sense of progression.

Day 4
Sunrise Balloon Safari with Bush Breakfast
Wake up very early for the highlight of the tour: a sunrise hot air balloon safari over the Serengeti. As the balloon rises above the plains, you will enjoy sweeping views of the landscape, wildlife, river lines, and golden morning light. This is one of the most exclusive and unforgettable safari experiences in Tanzania.
After landing, enjoy a bush breakfast in the wilderness before continuing with a full day game drive in Serengeti. This combination of aerial experience and classic safari time on the ground creates one of the strongest days in the whole itinerary.

Day 5
Full Day Serengeti Game Drive
Spend a full day exploring Serengeti with your professional guide. Depending on the season, your day can focus on general wildlife viewing, predator tracking, scenic photography, or migration-related movement. With picnic lunch and flexible route planning, this day adds strong safari depth to the program.
A second full Serengeti day is very important because it gives more chances for memorable sightings and allows the itinerary to feel complete, not rushed. This is often the day when guests enjoy their most dramatic wildlife moments.

Day 6
Serengeti to Arusha / Departure
After breakfast, begin your return journey to Arusha or transfer to the airstrip for a domestic flight depending on your chosen package arrangement. If travelling by road, the route allows time to enjoy the changing scenery as you leave the plains and return toward the highlands.
On arrival in Arusha, Tanzania Adventures Group will transfer you to your hotel or airport for departure. This marks the end of your 6 Days Serengeti Balloon Safari and Tarangire Tour.
