Day 1
Flight to Serengeti Airstrip and Afternoon Game Drive
After breakfast in Arusha, or after your connection from Zanzibar or Kilimanjaro, you transfer to the airport for your scenic bush flight into the Serengeti. On arrival at the selected airstrip, your private safari guide welcomes you and begins your first game drive immediately, turning the transfer into an introduction to the ecosystem, resident predators, plains game, and early migration activity.
The afternoon is designed to be relaxed but productive, with time to settle into the rhythm of the park while still searching for lion, cheetah, leopard, elephant, giraffe, and large herds of wildebeest and zebra. By sunset you arrive at your luxury camp for dinner, drinks, and a comfortable overnight in the bush.
Day 2
Full Day Safari in Central Serengeti or Prime Migration Zone
Today is a full day dedicated to game drives in the most productive area around your camp. If your travel period matches the central plains season, this day focuses on Seronera and nearby valleys, where permanent water supports year-round wildlife and strong predator concentrations. This area often delivers excellent sightings because cats, hyenas, and scavengers remain active around large herbivore movement.
Your guide plans the day around recent animal reports, weather, light, and herd direction. A picnic lunch allows you to remain out longer in the field and maximize wildlife time. In the evening you return to camp for a luxury bush dinner and overnight while preparing for the next day’s deeper migration tracking.
Day 3
Transfer Game Drive to Seasonal Migration Sector
After breakfast, you continue with a longer exploratory drive toward the best migration sector for the season. Depending on the month, this may mean moving north toward the Mara River region for river crossing possibilities, west toward the Grumeti corridor, or south toward the short-grass plains when calving activity is at its peak. The journey itself is part of the safari and offers changing landscapes, fresh wildlife opportunities, and excellent photographic variety.
This relocation day is especially valuable on a premium migration safari because it connects two strong wildlife areas in one seamless itinerary. You arrive at your second luxury camp in time to relax, enjoy the camp setting, and prepare for another full wildlife-focused day close to current herd positions.
Day 4
Full Day Great Migration Experience
This is your signature migration day and one of the highlights of the entire program. With an early departure, your guide follows fresh movements and concentrates on the specific wildlife drama of the season, whether that is large grazing concentrations, predator interaction, calving activity, or tension around river approach points. The flexibility of a private vehicle is especially important here because no two migration days are ever exactly the same.
Guests can choose between a packed picnic lunch in the bush or a return to camp depending on the pace they prefer. Throughout the day, your guide balances action, comfort, and timing to create a premium safari rhythm. By late afternoon you return to camp for a final celebratory evening in the Serengeti.
Day 5
Morning Game Drive and Fly Out
Your final morning begins with either breakfast at camp or an early game drive before breakfast, depending on your flight schedule. This last safari window often produces excellent sightings because the bush is cool, predators may still be active, and the light is beautiful for photography. Even a short drive can provide a memorable final encounter before departure.
You are then transferred to the airstrip for your scheduled bush flight back to Arusha or onward connection. The safari ends with a smooth exit from the park, making this itinerary one of the most efficient and comfortable ways to experience high-end migration safari travel in Tanzania.
