On arrival at Barafu, the team prepares an early dinner and helps you settle in before the summit push. The remainder of the day is focused on rest, hydration, and mental preparation because the next stage is the most challenging and most rewarding part of the expedition.

Very early in the night, you begin the summit ascent toward Stella Point and then continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa at 5,895 meters. This is the most demanding day of the program, requiring determination, slow pacing, and close support from the guides. Reaching the summit at sunrise is an unforgettable achievement and the emotional high point of the climb.

After photos and a short celebration at the top, you descend carefully back to Barafu for a rest stop, then continue down to Mweka Camp. Although it is a long day, the large drop in altitude usually brings relief and a strong feeling of success as you complete the mountain’s hardest section.

After breakfast, you complete the final descent through beautiful forest to Mweka Gate. This section is easier than the summit day but still requires care on the often damp trail. At the gate, climbers receive certificates and celebrate the successful completion of the Kilimanjaro climb.

You are then transferred back to Arusha for a well-deserved shower, comfortable bed, and proper recovery in a luxury lodge. This overnight is very valuable because it creates a smooth transition between the mountain expedition and the safari that begins the following day.

After breakfast, you begin the safari section with a drive to Tarangire National Park. This park is famous for its elephant herds, majestic baobab trees, and excellent dry-season game viewing. After the intense mountain days, the change to safari travel feels relaxing and richly rewarding.
