Day 1
Arrival in Arusha
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, you will be welcomed by Tanzania Adventures Group and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. This first day is reserved for rest, safari briefing, and preparation for the long camping journey ahead. It is also the right time to review packing, confirm the route, and receive guidance about the camping section of the trip.
Depending on your arrival time, you may relax at the hotel before dinner and overnight in Arusha.
Suggested accommodation: Charity Hotel, Outpost Lodge, or a similar budget hotel in Arusha.
Day 2
Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park for the first major game drive of the safari. Tarangire is known for giant baobab trees, wide elephant herds, and excellent wildlife movement along the river system. It is a very strong opening park for a longer northern Tanzania adventure.
During the day, you may see elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, impalas, warthogs, and predators depending on conditions. Later, continue to camp for dinner and overnight.
Suggested accommodation: Tarangire Public Campsite or a similar approved campsite near the park.
Day 3
Tarangire Area to Lake Manyara National Park
Today continue toward Lake Manyara National Park, a compact but very scenic park with groundwater forest, escarpment views, seasonal lake-edge habitats, and excellent birdlife. It provides a different safari atmosphere from Tarangire, with forest sections, monkeys, elephants, hippos, and diverse habitats in one small area.
After game viewing, continue to your campsite in the Mto wa Mbu or Lake Manyara area for dinner and overnight.
Suggested accommodation: Migombani Campsite, Twiga Campsite, or a similar approved campsite near Lake Manyara.
Day 4
Lake Manyara Area to Central Serengeti
After breakfast, depart through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and continue toward Serengeti National Park. This is one of the most scenic travel days of the itinerary because the route gradually changes from highlands to the immense plains that define Tanzania’s most famous wildlife destination.
On arrival in Central Serengeti, begin an afternoon game drive while heading toward camp. This region is highly productive for predator sightings and year-round wildlife concentration.
Suggested accommodation: Seronera Public Campsite or a similar approved campsite in Central Serengeti.
Day 5
Full Day Game Drive in Central Serengeti
Spend the day exploring Central Serengeti, one of the best wildlife regions in East Africa. The Seronera area often delivers strong chances of seeing lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, buffalo, and large grazing herds. Permanent water and rich habitat make this a very rewarding safari zone throughout the year.
Because you remain inside the park for the whole day, your guide can focus on the most promising areas rather than rushing through short sightings.
Suggested accommodation: Seronera Public Campsite or a similar approved campsite in Central Serengeti.
Day 6
Second Full Day in Central Serengeti
A second full day in Central Serengeti gives the safari more depth and flexibility. Instead of a quick visit, this program allows more time to follow wildlife activity, revisit productive areas, and enjoy the rhythm of the plains with fewer limitations.
This added time often leads to better sightings and makes the overall journey feel more complete and rewarding.
Suggested accommodation: Seronera Public Campsite or a similar approved campsite in Central Serengeti.
Day 7
Central Serengeti to Northern Serengeti
After breakfast, continue north through Serengeti on a game drive that reveals more of the park’s scale and variety. This transition creates a wider expedition feel and brings you into a more remote part of the ecosystem.
Northern Serengeti is known for its dramatic scenery, quieter atmosphere, and strong wildlife value, especially during migration months. Arrive at camp in time for dinner and overnight.
Suggested accommodation: Lobo Public Campsite, Nyani Campsite sector, or a similar approved campsite in Northern Serengeti.
Day 8
Full Day in Northern Serengeti
Spend the day exploring the northern section of Serengeti. In migration season, this area is especially popular for river crossing drama, but even outside that period it remains one of the most scenic and rewarding parts of the park with excellent wildlife distribution.
The landscapes here feel more remote, and that adds a stronger sense of discovery to the trip. Expect a full day of wildlife viewing before returning to camp.
Suggested accommodation: Lobo Public Campsite, Nyani Campsite sector, or a similar approved campsite in Northern Serengeti.
Day 9
Northern Serengeti to Central Serengeti
Today begin the return drive south through Serengeti, continuing game viewing on the way. This is still an active safari day because wildlife movement between regions often produces fresh sightings and different scenery from what you experienced earlier in the route.
Arrive back in Central Serengeti for dinner and overnight, ready for the final stage of the northern circuit.
Suggested accommodation: Seronera Public Campsite or a similar approved campsite in Central Serengeti.
Day 10
Central Serengeti to Ngorongoro Highlands
After breakfast, enjoy a final game drive as you exit Serengeti and continue toward the Ngorongoro Highlands. The journey still offers wildlife opportunities and broad scenic contrasts, gradually shifting from plains to cooler elevated landscapes.
Reaching the crater rim area in the afternoon positions you perfectly for an early descent into the crater the next morning.
Suggested accommodation: Simba Campsite on the Ngorongoro rim or a similar approved campsite in the highlands.
Day 11
Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive to Lake Eyasi Area
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for one of Tanzania’s most iconic wildlife experiences. The crater floor supports dense wildlife concentration, often including buffalo, lions, hyenas, zebra, wildebeest, hippos, and the possibility of seeing black rhino in one of the most dramatic natural settings in Africa.
After the crater tour and picnic lunch, continue toward the Lake Eyasi area for dinner and overnight.
Suggested accommodation: Lake Eyasi Public Campsite or a similar approved campsite in the Lake Eyasi area.
Day 12
Lake Eyasi Cultural and Nature Discovery
Today explore the Lake Eyasi region, known for dry lake landscapes, birdlife, traditional communities, and a more raw natural setting compared with the classic game parks. This day adds another dimension to the journey and gives the safari a broader discovery character.
Depending on the arrangement, the day may include local cultural exposure, scenic exploration, and time around the lake environment before continuing later toward the Karatu or Mto wa Mbu area for overnight.
Suggested accommodation: Migombani Campsite, Twiga Campsite, or a similar approved campsite in the Karatu / Mto wa Mbu area.
Day 13
Return to Arusha and Departure
After breakfast, drive back to Arusha for drop-off at the airport, hotel, or another onward connection. This final day marks the end of a long and well-rounded northern Tanzania adventure with substantial time in the country’s top wildlife regions.
By the end of the journey, guests have explored multiple ecosystems, experienced camping in prime safari areas, and enjoyed a much deeper Tanzania wildlife circuit than a standard short itinerary.
Suggested end-of-tour option: Airport transfer, day room in Arusha, or extra overnight can be arranged on request.
