Day 1
Arrival in Arusha
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, you will be met by the Tanzania Adventures Group team and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. This arrival day is reserved for rest, safari briefing, and final travel preparation before the wildlife program begins.
Depending on your arrival time, you can relax at the lodge and receive a clear introduction to the route, expected weather, and recommended packing arrangement for the parks ahead.
Suggested accommodation: Charity Hotel, Outpost Lodge, or a similar affordable hotel in Arusha.
Day 2
Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, depart Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park for your first full safari experience. Tarangire is famous for its giant baobab trees, large elephant herds, and strong wildlife activity along the Tarangire River, especially during the dry season.
Throughout the day, you may see zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, warthogs, impalas, and predators in a scenic landscape that introduces the safari beautifully. After the game drive, continue to the overnight area near Karatu or Mto wa Mbu.
Suggested accommodation: Fanaka Campsite & Lodge, Eileen’s Trees Inn, or a similar affordable lodge.
Day 3
Lake Manyara National Park
Today you enjoy a full safari day in Lake Manyara National Park, known for its groundwater forest, escarpment scenery, lake-edge habitats, monkeys, elephants, and impressive birdlife. The park is compact, scenic, and very different from Tarangire, adding variety to the overall holiday.
The mixed habitats here often create rewarding sightings in a relatively short driving range, making this a valuable addition to the route. After the game drive, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Suggested accommodation: Fanaka Campsite & Lodge, Kudu Lodge, or a similar affordable lodge in Karatu/Mto wa Mbu.
Day 4
Karatu to Central Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, travel through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area on your way to Serengeti National Park. The drive itself is part of the safari experience, with changing landscapes, scenic highland viewpoints, and Maasai grazing areas along the route.
As you enter Serengeti, the landscape opens into the world-famous plains that define Tanzania safari travel. An afternoon game drive is included as you continue toward Central Serengeti for dinner and overnight.
Suggested accommodation: Tukaone Serengeti Camp, Kontiki Serengeti Camp, or a similar affordable tented camp.
Day 5
Full Day Game Drive in Central Serengeti
Spend a full day exploring the wildlife-rich plains of Central Serengeti. This region is excellent for resident wildlife and is one of the best places to search for lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, buffalo, and large mixed herds of herbivores.
With a full safari day available, your guide can spend more time following active sightings and visiting productive game-viewing areas around Seronera and nearby plains. Return to camp in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Suggested accommodation: Tukaone Serengeti Camp, Kontiki Serengeti Camp, or a similar affordable tented camp.
Day 6
Second Serengeti Wildlife Day
A second full day in Serengeti significantly improves the overall wildlife experience because it allows more flexibility for tracking current animal movement. Depending on the season, the game drive may focus on central plains, kopje areas, drainage lines, or other productive wildlife zones.
This extra day is especially valuable for guests who want stronger predator opportunities and more time to appreciate the scale of the Serengeti ecosystem rather than treating it as a quick stop.
Suggested accommodation: Tukaone Serengeti Camp, Kontiki Serengeti Camp, or a similar affordable tented camp.
Day 7
Extended Serengeti Exploration
Today continues your wildlife adventure in Serengeti with another full day of game drives. Having this additional time makes the itinerary stronger and more competitive because it provides a deeper safari experience than many shorter programs.
Guests often appreciate the chance to revisit productive areas, search for leopard and cheetah, and spend longer periods with herds and predators. This day helps transform the safari into a true holiday rather than a rushed circuit.
Suggested accommodation: Tukaone Serengeti Camp, Kontiki Serengeti Camp, or a similar affordable tented camp.
Day 8
Serengeti to Ngorongoro Highlands
After breakfast, enjoy a final game drive while exiting Serengeti and continuing toward the Ngorongoro Highlands. This transfer day still offers wildlife opportunities and allows you to move naturally from the open plains into the cooler highland environment.
Arriving near the crater area the day before your descent helps keep the next day more efficient and comfortable. Dinner and overnight are planned in the Ngorongoro or Karatu area.
Suggested accommodation: Rhino Lodge, Eileen’s Trees Inn, or a similar affordable stay near Ngorongoro/Karatu.
Day 9
Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive
Today you descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for one of the most rewarding game drives in Tanzania. The crater floor provides dense wildlife concentration and a realistic chance to see buffalo, lions, hyenas, hippos, zebra, wildebeest, and the rare black rhino.
Combined with the dramatic crater walls and open grasslands, this day is often one of the strongest highlights of the entire safari. After the crater tour, continue back to Karatu for dinner and overnight.
Suggested accommodation: Kudu Lodge, Marera Valley Lodge budget category, or a similar affordable lodge in Karatu.
Day 10
Karatu to Arusha National Park
After breakfast, drive back toward Arusha and continue to Arusha National Park for a scenic game drive. This park offers a different safari character with montane forest, open grasslands, lakes, and excellent views of Mount Meru on clear days.
Wildlife here may include giraffes, buffalo, zebras, warthogs, colobus monkeys, and many bird species. This final park day adds a beautiful contrast to the larger savannah parks already visited and completes the journey with lighter scenery and photographic value.
Suggested accommodation: Charity Hotel, Outpost Lodge, or a similar affordable hotel in Arusha.
Day 11
Departure from Arusha
Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy a relaxed morning in Arusha before transfer to the airport for your onward journey. A day room, additional overnight stay, or extension to Zanzibar can also be arranged if required.
This brings the safari to a close after a well-balanced, wildlife-focused holiday across some of Tanzania’s most celebrated destinations.
Suggested end-of-tour option: Airport transfer or extra hotel stay in Arusha can be arranged on request.
