Today, you’ll trek from Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut. This hike takes approximately 5-7 hours and ascends to an altitude of 3,700 meters. The landscape changes as you climb higher, and you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro and its surroundings. Horombo Hut is a great place to acclimatize to the altitude and prepare for the next leg of your ascent. It's a popular resting point for climbers, offering basic but comfortable facilities.
After a restful night at Horombo Hut, you’ll descend back to Marangu Gate. The descent takes about 5-6 hours, and along the way, you’ll observe the changing landscapes, from alpine meadows to lush rainforests. Once you reach Marangu Gate, you’ll be transferred back to Moshi for a relaxing evening at Panama Garden Resort.
After breakfast, you’ll head to Materuni Village, home to the Chaga people, where you can learn about the local culture and traditions.
