Drive from Moshi to the Londorossi Gate, where you'll complete park formalities before continuing to the Lemosho trailhead. Begin your trek through lush rainforest, spotting diverse flora and fauna along the way. Reach Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,750 meters / 9,022 feet) for your first night on the mountain.
Leave the rainforest behind and ascend through heather and moorland. Enjoy panoramic views of the Shira Plateau as you hike toward Shira 1 Camp (3,505 meters / 11,499 feet). This day's trek helps with acclimatization as you gradually gain altitude.
Trek across the Shira Plateau towards the eastern side of the mountain. Pass through the high desert terrain and arrive at Moir Hut (4,200 meters / 13,780 feet), situated in a scenic valley. This remote camp offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
Continue ascending through alpine desert landscapes, crossing rugged terrain and streams. Arrive at Buffalo Camp (4,020 meters / 13,190 feet), nestled beneath the towering cliffs of the Rongai Escarpment. Enjoy the serenity of the campsite and prepare for the challenges ahead.
Trek through the barren landscape of the Saddle, a wide expanse between Kilimanjaro's peaks. Pass by the distinctive features of the Northern Circuit, including the Northern Icefields and the Eastern Icefields. Arrive at School Hut (4,750 meters / 15,580 feet), your final camp before the summit attempt.
Begin the ascent to the summit of Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters / 19,341 feet) well before midnight. Trek through the night, guided by headlamps, aiming to reach the summit at sunrise. Celebrate your achievement before descending back to School Hut and then continue down to Mweka Camp (3,100 meters / 10,170 feet) for the night.
Descend through lush rainforest to Mweka Gate (1,640 meters / 5,380 feet), where you'll receive your summit certificates and bid farewell to your guides and porters. Transfer back to Moshi for a well-deserved celebration and relaxation.
