Ndutu Migration Safari Best Time

Planning a Ndutu Migration Safari involves choosing the best time to experience the Great Migration at its peak. The ideal time to visit Ndutu is during the calving season, which typically occurs from late January to early March. During this period, the southern Serengeti and Ndutu areas come alive with thousands of wildebeest giving birth, offering spectacular wildlife viewing opportunities and dramatic scenes of predator-prey interactions.

For an optimal Ndutu Migration Safari experience, consider traveling between January and March. This time frame not only provides a chance to witness the calving but also ensures fewer crowds compared to the peak season in the northern Serengeti. Enjoy unrivaled access to the migration, enhanced game drives, and co Ndutu Migration Safari Packages

Here are the tour packages recommended for Ndutu Migration Safari packages.

Day 1 - Arusha to Serengeti South - Ndutu Area

We’ll pick you up from your hotel accommodation in Arusha and bring you to Arusha Airstrip for your flight to the Ndutu Area. Upon arrival, you’ll have a meet and greet with your tour guide/driver and then proceed to a game drive. The Lake Ndutu area, situated in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, is part of the southern Serengeti eco-system. Lake Ndutu is alkaline, like most other Rift lakes, but the water is still drinkable and used by a wide array of local wildlife. The majority of the wildebeest migration can normally be found on the short-grass plains from December to April. The area is usually heavily populated with elephant, birds, and resident game.

Day 2 - Ndutu Area

Start your day with a game drive in Ndutu Area after breakfast and then return to the camp for lunch. Resume your game drive at Seronera, tracking the Great Migration trails. A thorough explanation of this remarkable world event, which Tanzania is proud of, will be provided. In the evening, as the sun sets, experience Tanzania’s oldest and most popular national park, the Serengeti, a world heritage site and recently proclaimed a 7th worldwide wonder, renowned for its annual migration.

Inclusion:

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
  • Accommodation: Acacia Migration Camp

Day 3 - Ndutu to Seronera

Experience a hot air balloon safari early in the morning, then proceed back to the camp for breakfast. Afterward, we’ll depart for Seronera with a game drive en route. The park is well known for its healthy stock of resident wildlife, particularly the “big five” — Lion, African Leopard, and others. The Serengeti is believed to hold the largest population of lions in Africa, with more than 3,000 lions living in this ecosystem. African Leopards, reclusive predators, are commonly seen around.

Inclusion:

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
  • Accommodation: Acacia Central Camps

Day 4 - Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast, continue your game drive in the Seronera area. In the afternoon, proceed to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Witness the incredible sight of a million wildebeest, each driven by the same ancient rhythm, fulfilling its instinctive role in the cycle of life. Experience the frenzied three-week bout of territorial conquests and mating, and survival through crocodile-infested waters on the annual exodus north. This replenishes the species in a brief population explosion, producing more than 8,000 calves daily before the pilgrimage begins again.

Inclusion:

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
  • Accommodation: Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge

Day 5 - Ngorongoro Crater to Departure

We’ll depart in the morning after breakfast and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater by 11 AM. Afterwards, we’ll drive back to Arusha and drop you off at the airport to catch your flight back home or to your next destination.
