Embark on a 6-day adventure to conquer the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro via the Rongai Route, a less crowded and scenic path that offers a more secluded and intimate experience for those seeking a quieter trekking adventure.
The Rongai Route is a 6-day climb that begins on the northern slope of Mount Kilimanjaro in a coniferous forest, traversing various climatic zones. The descent follows the Marangu Route on the southwestern side of the mountain. This route offers trekkers a steady and not exceedingly steep climb to the Kibo Crater Wall and Uhuru Peak.
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Moshi. Here, you will meet your guide, who will provide a briefing on the upcoming trek and conduct an equipment check to ensure you have all the necessary gear. Any missing items can be rented on this day.
After completing the registration formalities, you will begin your ascent through the lush, verdant rainforest. Along the way, keep an eye out for the diverse flora and fauna, including towering Eucalyptus trees, colorful birds, and the elusive Colobus monkeys. Your first day's destination is Simba Camp, where you will settle in for the night.

Leaving the lush rainforest behind, you will ascend through the open moorlands, with stunning views of the surrounding landscape and the majestic Kibo summit. Along the way, keep an eye out for the unique high-altitude vegetation, such as giant lobelias and grounsels. As you gain altitude, you may start to feel the effects of the thin air. Your destination for the day is Kikelewa Camp.

Today, you will continue your ascent, passing through a variety of landscapes, including heathland and alpine desert. The views of Mawenzi Peak and the surrounding mountains are truly breathtaking. Your destination for the day is Mawenzi Tarn Camp, where you will have the opportunity to explore the unique high-altitude environment.

Your trek continues as you ascend to School Camp, passing through more alpine desert terrain. The views of the surrounding peaks and the vast expanse of the Kilimanjaro massif are truly awe-inspiring. This day's hike will prepare you for the final push to the summit.

The big day has arrived! In the early hours of the morning, you will begin your ascent to the summit of Kilimanjaro, Uhuru Peak. The climb is challenging, but the sense of accomplishment and the breathtaking views from the top will make it all worthwhile. After taking in the stunning panorama, you will begin your descent, stopping for a rest at School Camp before continuing on to Horombo Hut

Your final day of the trek takes you down through the moorland and lush forest to the Marangu Gate, where a vehicle will be waiting to transfer you back to your hotel in Moshi. The descent can be wet and muddy, so be sure to have your gaiters and trekking poles handy. Once back at the hotel, you can relax, celebrate your achievement, and reflect on your incredible Kilimanjaro adventure.
