Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Moshi

Activities: Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to the Machame Gate.

Accommodation: Overnight at a hotel or lodge in Moshi for accommodation and preparation for kilimanjaro

Day 2: Machame Gate to Machame Camp

Elevation Gain: 1,800 m (Machame Gate) to 3,000 m (Machame Camp)

Distance: Approximately 11 km

Hiking Time: 5-7 hours

Accommodation: Machame Camp

Day 3: Machame Camp to Shira Camp

Elevation Gain: 3,000 m (Machame Camp) to 3,850 m (Shira Camp)

Distance: Approximately 5 km

Accommodation: Shira Camp

Day 4: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp

Day 7: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak and Descend to Mweka Camp

Elevation Gain: 4,600 m (Barafu Camp) to 5,895 m (Uhuru Peak), then descend to 3,100 m (Mweka Camp)

Distance: Approximately 22 km

Hiking Time: 12-15 hours

Accommodation: Mweka Camp or similar

Day 8: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate and Departure

Elevation Loss: 3,100 m (Mweka Camp) to 1,800 m (Mweka Gate)

Distance: Approximately 10 km

Hiking Time: 3-4 hours
