The Kilimanjaro Lemosho Route is newer and approaches Kilimanjaro from the west. The journey begins at Lemosho Gate and the route was introduced as a substitute to the Shira Route which trails starts from a higher, more challenging altitude. Lemosho Route is a little wild and you may get to spot large buffalo, antelope, and maybe even elephant. The route is also home to some primates such as black and white colobus monkey, blue monkeys etc.

Day 1: Arrival in Moshi

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel in Moshi, where you will meet your experienced guide and fellow trekkers. You will have a briefing about the trek and have some time to relax and prepare for the adventure ahead. Overnight stay in Moshi.

Day 2: Lemosho Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp

After breakfast, we will drive to the Lemosho Gate, located at an elevation of 2,385 meters (7,825 feet). Here, we will complete the necessary registration formalities before beginning our trek through the lush rainforest. The trail gradually ascends, offering glimpses of Kilimanjaro’s beauty.
