Arrive in Moshi, Tanzania, and transfer to your hotel or lodge. Meet your trekking group and guide for a briefing on the upcoming adventure. Spend the rest of the day resting and preparing for the trek ahead.
Drive from Moshi to the Londorossi Gate, where you'll complete park formalities before continuing to the Lemosho Gate. Begin your trek through lush rainforest, spotting diverse flora and fauna along the way. Reach Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,650 meters / 8,694 feet) for your first night on the mountain.
Leave the rainforest behind and ascend through heather and moorland. Enjoy panoramic views of the Shira Plateau as you hike toward Shira 1 Camp (3,505 meters / 11,499 feet). This day's trek helps with acclimatization as you gradually gain altitude.
Continue your journey across the Shira Plateau, surrounded by stunning volcanic landscapes. Trek to Shira 2 Camp (3,840 meters / 12,598 feet), where you'll spend the night. Take in the breathtaking scenery and prepare for the challenges ahead.
Begin the day with a steady ascent towards the Lava Tower (4,630 meters / 15,190 feet), a prominent volcanic formation. This serves as a crucial acclimatization point before descending to Barranco Camp (3,950 meters / 12,960 feet). The descent to Barranco allows your body to adjust to the altitude changes.
Navigate the famous Barranco Wall, a challenging but exhilarating scramble. Once atop the wall, trek across scenic ridges and valleys to Karanga Camp (3,995 meters / 13,106 feet). This shorter day allows for rest and further acclimatization before the summit push.
Ascend to Barafu Camp (4,673 meters / 15,331 feet), your final camp before the summit attempt. The terrain becomes rocky and barren as you approach the campsite. Rest, hydrate, and mentally prepare for the challenging summit night ahead.
Awake before midnight for a hot beverage and a light meal before beginning the ascent to the summit. Trek through the night, guided by headlamps, aiming to reach Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters / 19,341 feet) at sunrise. Celebrate your achievement before descending back to Barafu Camp for a short rest and then continue down to Mweka Camp (3,100 meters / 10,170 feet) for the night.
Descend through lush rainforest to Mweka Gate (1,640 meters / 5,380 feet), where you'll receive your summit certificates and bid farewell to your guides and porters. Transfer back to Moshi for a well-deserved celebration and relaxation.
