Begin your Kilimanjaro adventure with a drive from Moshi to the Marangu Gate. After registering at the Kilimanjaro National Park Authority offices, commence the climb through the rainforest to Mandara Hut, located at 9,000 ft / 2,740 m. A side trip to Maundi Crater is a good way to see the surroundings including Northern Tanzania.
After breakfast, start trekking to Horombo Hut. Stop for a short break and snacks at Kibo Hut before continuing on to Horombo Hut. Reach Horombo Hut in the afternoon and enjoy your last night on the mountain.
After a long sleep, wake up for breakfast and pack. Continue your descent through the moorland to Mandara Huts. Here, you will have lunch then proceed your triumphant recessional down through lush forest to Marangu park gate. After the gate, sign out, and a vehicle will take you back to the hotel where it is definitely time for your certificate presentation and celebration!
Rise early for the summit push to Uhuru Peak, the highest point on Kilimanjaro. After taking in the stunning panorama, descend to Horombo Hut to rest and prepare for the next day's hike.
Continue your descent, hiking through the moorland to Karanga Camp. Enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding landscape and the chance to rest and recharge for the next day's hike.
Ascend to Barafu Camp, your base camp for the summit attempt. Rest and prepare for the big day ahead.
