Tour Itinerary

Trip

Day 1: Arrival in Moshi

Arrive in Moshi, the gateway to Mount Kilimanjaro. Meet your guide for a detailed briefing about the climb, including safety measures and packing advice. Spend the night at a comfortable hotel, ensuring a good rest before the adventure begins.

Day 2: Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut

Start your journey at Marangu Gate (1,860 meters). After registration, begin the trek through lush rainforests. The trail gradually ascends to Mandara Hut (2,720 meters), your first overnight stop. Along the way, spot exotic flora and fauna, including blue monkeys. Overnight at Mandara Hut.

Day 3: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut

Continue your ascent through moorland terrain. The trail offers stunning views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. Reach Horombo Hut (3,720 meters) by late afternoon. This day’s trek helps with acclimatization, crucial for the higher altitudes ahead. Rest and acclimatize overnight at Horombo Hut.

Day 4: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

Leave the moorland and enter the alpine desert. The trail today is steeper and rockier, leading to Kibo Hut (4,703 meters). This leg of the journey offers breathtaking views of the summit. Reach Kibo Hut by mid-afternoon, allowing time to rest and prepare for the midnight summit attempt. Overnight at Kibo Hut.

Day 5: Summit Day – Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut

Wake up around midnight for the final ascent. The steep climb up to Gilman’s Point (5,685 meters) is challenging but rewarding. Continue to Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters), the highest point in Africa, just in time for sunrise. Celebrate your achievement before descending back to Kibo Hut for a short rest. Continue descending to Horombo Hut for overnight rest.

Day 6: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate and Departure

Descend from Horombo Hut back to Marangu Gate. This final leg passes through the varied climates you experienced on the ascent. Receive your summit certificates at the gate and return to Moshi. Enjoy a celebratory meal before transferring to the airport or continuing your travels.
