Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Day 2-8: Kilimanjaro Ascent via the Machame Route
Route: Machame Gate to Uhuru Peak (summit) and descent
Accommodation: Camping along the Machame Route


Day 2: Arusha to Machame Camp

Trekking Distance: Approximately 11 kilometers (7 miles)
Elevation Gain: Approximately 1,220 meters (4,000 feet)
Activities: Transfer to Machame Gate, trek through montane forest
Accommodation: Machame Camp (2,835 meters / 9,301 feet)


Day 3: Machame Camp to Shira Camp

Trekking Distance: Approximately 5 kilometers (3 miles)
Elevation Gain: Approximately 815 meters (2,670 feet)
Activities: Trek through heathland and moorland
Accommodation: Shira Camp (3,750 meters / 12,303 feet)


Day 4: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp

Elevation Gain: Approximately 700 meters (2,297 feet), then descent of 600 meters (1,968 feet)
Activities: Trek to Lava Tower and descend to Barranco Camp

Day 5: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Trekking Distance: Approximately 6 kilometers (4 miles)
Elevation Gain: Approximately 200 meters (656 feet)
Activities: Climb Barranco Wall and trek to Karanga Camp

Day 6: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

Activities: Trek to Barafu Camp

Day 7: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak (summit) and Mweka Camp

Trekking Distance: Approximately 5 kilometers (3 miles) ascent, 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) descent
Elevation Gain: Approximately 1,255 meters (4,117 feet) ascent, 2,795 meters (9,170 feet) descent
Activities: Midnight summit attempt, descent to Mweka Camp
Accommodation: Mweka Camp (3,110 meters / 10,204 feet)


Day 8: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate, Transfer to Arusha

Trekking Distance: Approximately 10 kilometers (6.2 miles)
Elevation Loss: Approximately 1,550 meters (5,085 feet)
Activities: Final descent, transfer to Arusha

Day 9: Transfer to Tarangire National Park

Activities: Transfer to Tarangire, afternoon game drive
Accommodation: Lodge or camp in Tarangire National Park, Begin the safari segment with a transfer to Tarangire National Park, known for its large elephant herds and baobab trees. Enjoy an afternoon game drive to spot diverse wildlife including lions, giraffes, and various bird species.


Day 10: Tarangire to Lake Manyara National Park

Activities: Morning game drive in Tarangire, transfer to Lake Manyara, afternoon game drive
