Tour Price Range Per Person: (Range $1000 - $1300)
You will be picked up from Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to your booked hotel in Moshi or Arusha. There, you will meet your tour guide who will brief you about your Africa safari tour. The rest of the time, you can relax and unwind at the hotel.
After breakfast, departure from your hotel and a two-hour drive to Tarangire National Park. Huge baobab trees, bush savannah, and seasonal swamps contribute to the wonder of this conservation area. Tarangire National Park is considered one of the best places to see elephants up close. The park is also home to buffaloes, zebras, and wildebeests, often closely followed by predators like lions. Occasionally, leopards are spotted, but cheetahs are rare. From the open roof of the safari vehicle, you can take in the scenery and observe the animals. In the evening, you will reach your lodge inside the park.
After breakfast, travel through the cooler highlands towards the southern Serengeti, reaching the plains of Serengeti National Park by midday. This park is Tanzania's largest, offering a variety of habitats and landscapes – short grass plains, savannahs, dense bushland, swamps, and lakes. Bizarre rock formations, called kopjes, dot the grasslands where predators are often sighted. The Serengeti is famous for the annual migration, during which hundreds of thousands of wildebeests and zebras migrate in search of fresh grass and water.
On your way to the park gate, you can still observe some wildlife before leaving the Serengeti National Park in the early afternoon and continuing your journey to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, you can also see the Maasai Boma with its traditional way of life. You will overnight at the lodge on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater.
After breakfast, descend 600 meters into the crater for game viewing. The massive collapsed volcano is home to over 25,000 mammals, from the Big Five – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhinoceros, and leopard – to spotted hyenas, rare warthogs, and some of the area's over 500 bird species. After an extensive game drive and a picnic lunch at the Hippo Pool, you will leave the caldera in the late afternoon and drive to the city of Arusha.
